County Pairs Competition
Saturday January 21stand Sunday January 22nd 2012
This is the major pairs event in the county. It will take place at East Midlands Bridge Academy, Spondon starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday and a bit earlier on Sunday (time to be arranged). The entry fee includes your afternoon tea on both days (a cob, cake or fruit and a cup of tea). In fairness to the Bar Management please do not bring your own food. Entry fee is £21 per player, payable to DCBA.
All players must be DCBA and EBU members. There will be no seeding. After the first day, the field will split into two groups, the highest placed pairs will play in the main final and the remainder in the consolation final.
Prizes
¨ The first two or three pairs of the Championship Final will be invited to represent Derbyshire in the Corwen Trophy.
¨ Two highly-placed pairs from the championship final and the top two pairs from the Whinfrey Plate will be invited to represent Derbyshire in the Foster Cups Competition.
¨ In addition, there will be prizes in both finals, which will be determined by the number of entries.
¨ If numbers allow, there will be a non-expert prize
In order to ensure the success of this event, we need to know the number of entries well in advance. Please complete one entry form per pair and return it to Mary Marshall, 1 St Michaels Close, Shirley, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 3AT, no later than 11th January 2012.
